Great food, great service. Having walked past this place a few times in recent months we decided to go in and take advantage of a brilliant new year's promotion - bring in a local shop receipt and get a discount. A wonderful idea that supports local business. We were really pleased with the food, drinkand service. Will definitely be back and more than happy to pay full price. Great food, great atmosphere, well done to all the staff and owners.
Me and my family came to Clitheroe to visit the castle and didn't know where to eat, we found this place and thought it would just be simple pub grub, the prices were very expensive, 14.00 for a chicken dinner, at that price we expected a big plate full of food, the plate was big but there was a tiny dollop of mash which tasted like Smash, the chicken was over cooked and burnt in places, there was a splash of watery gravy and one roast potato which tasted like it was warmed up from yesterday, the veg came on a little piece of woiw, I thought it was for one person but it was for both of us, the Yorkshire pudding was like dry like dust, I don't mind paying for a decent meal but this was far from decent, the cauliflower cheese was rock hard aswell, I don't normally leave reviews but I felt compelled to leave this one. I couldn't fault the staff though, they were polite and friendly, the place itself looked decent enough it's just the food let it down in a big way.
